Ensuring access to adequate spectrum provides opportunities for underserved communities to connect themselves with reliable, affordable Internet that is provided by the current market.</p>
<p style="direction:ltr;font-size:14px;line-height:1.4em;color:#444;font-family:"Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;margin:0 0 1em">In August, <strong>Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada</strong> (ISED) initiated<a style="color:#2585b2" href="https://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/smt-gst.nsf/eng/sf11717.html" target="_blank"> <strong>a consultation on a new supplementary licensing process</strong></a> (Access Licensing framework) for unused spectrum to support innovation and the availability of rural services. If implemented correctly, this process can be a major benefit for Indigenous connectivity efforts across Canada.</p>
