The Internet started as a small network connecting few research and
development networks. The rules were simple and shared by everybody. Later,
it evolved and started having commercial value. At that point a governance
model had to be established to ensure orderly development. Will the
InterPlanetary Network follow a similar path? Are there any lessons that we
can learn from the experience with the "traditional" Internet?
