published the *Code of Practice for Consumer IoT Security

In February 2019 the *European Telecommunications Standards Institute

a Global IoT cybersecurity standard.

DCMS have proposed a labeling system based on adherence to the following
three minimum guidelines:
1) IoT device passwords must be unique by default.
2) IoT products must provide a public point of contact as part of a
vulnerability disclosure policy.
3) manufacturers must explicitly state the minimum length of time for which
the device will receive security updates through an end of life policy.

In early May 2019 the DCMS launched *a consultation

to
gather feedback. Deadline is *5 June 2019*.

On 20 May 2019, as they considered their response, the *Internet Society UK
England Chapter <https://isoc-e.org/>* hosted *a webinar

DCMS Assistant Director, Cyber Security & Data Protection, gave an overview
of the scheme, and took questions.
